Hank Moody

"Hank Moody is not smooth, just quick-witted. He's a man on a mission to perfect "self-loathing" believing that sympathy is a course of action for achieving his goals...i.e. reuiniting his family. In fact, he's quite pathetic sometimes in the way that he lets life happen to him rather than scooping up what's left of his dignity and reassembling it into a new direction. I have no doubt that a more confident, directed man would certainly get noticed by Karen, but Hank is nothing if not a man of habit. This seemed to work for him most of his life and he's hoping to get one last hoorah out of the self-pity before he actually decides to grow up, as if growing up is a disease he is desperately trying to avoid."
