Does anybody knows what his weapon of choice for the whiskey. We see the bottle in the first episode and when he dumps the redhead but I can't put a name on the brand. Anyone knows? 'Cause I plan on kicking the Season 2 with a glass of that baby!

In Episode 3 Season 1, Hank is a bar with Meredith. In the background there is an array of spirits, Skyy Vodka, Absolute Vodka and Bombay Sapphire. Does anyone know the blue bottled liqour with the red top?

does anyone know the year and exact make of Hank's 911? It is obviously a 911 Cabriolet, but i think it is a 964 model, but wondered on the year? Early to mid-90's i would assume, but does anyone know the specifics? thanks

I have concluded that his Porsche is either a 1994 or a 1991 with the wrong wheel. The 1991 had a more solid design of wheel; the 5 spoke rim was a common wheel on the 1994. It’s either that or a 1991 with 94 rims. I do love that ride!

I was just wondering what you guys thought he would read, or his favorite Authors or Books.
I saw a copy of Franz Kafka on his chest in one episode, Man in Full by Tom Wolfe was on his bedshelf and it is no secret Charles Bukowski was some inspiration for the show.

That's interesting. I always thought the loft was on Windward, between Speedway and Pacific. It is indeed on Brooks Avenue, but looking through some Season 1 episodes I noticed that they did edit things to make it appear that the loft was on Windward.
For example, at the end of "The Devil's Threesome," you see Hank, Karen, Charlie and Marcy come out the front of the loft. Charlie and Marcy go to the left (toward Speedway and the beach), while Hank and Karen go to the right. As Hank follows Karen, the camera angle shifts so that it is behind Hank. In this shot, no part of the loft is visible, and the street in the background is definitely Windward Avenue, not Brooks. The sign for Cafe Collage is easy to make out. Other giveaways are the parking meters on the side of the street and the fascia of the ex-Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf location.
Incidentally, the carjacking scene was also at Windward and Pacific, not on Rose and Main near the Ballerina Clown.

Yah the coffee bean, is just no longer there. Still alot of it, is pretty easy to make out if you know your way around Los Angeles, and more importantly Venice/Santa Monica.

Good point as far as Mia ever being able to duplicate her "first bestseller." Karen would no doubt flip out if she knew about Hank and Mia, but she of all people knows what he's like. Sure, Hank can be a total douche, as can we all, but Mia was so far from virgin she'd need an Atlas to find it!

Californication i oe of the best written shows on tv, I cannot watch network tv anymore, Stations like showtime and HBo or so superior in originaliuty, writing and no commercials.
Californication has it all, looking forward to the start of the 2nd season.
I hope the writers do something evil to Mia for plagerizing Hanks story.

What a great episode, Bro. Tom. You really captured every thought of every man who has ever fallen in love, and it was my thoughts verbatim. And, for every single, swinging, spinner out there...if you haven't fallen in love and/or have found a lump on your junk. Then, you don't know what I'm talking about. I so love the show and I would like to see him back with Karen. I don't think she's in love with Bill. I think she likes him and likes the thought that he seems more grounded than Hank.Karen is in love with Hank!!

I'm not sure I agree that second season gets more interesting. Sometimes a show just doesn't have that much juice in the tank. that said though, this is some of the freshest dialogue (spelt the Australian way there, sorry :P ) we have seen for some time. Maybe it's because Arron Spelling is dead :) Other writers finally have their day in the sun.
